Bringing in Spring…

There’s nothing like a bit of sunshine in the middle of January! It is a glorious day, thank the Lord, and has that feeling of early spring in the air. Wishful thinking, I know, to have a spring in January, but it still makes me want to sip on a cup of tea and watch BBC movies that are full of spring time scenes. Even if the season won’t necessarily proceed to warmer weather just yet, I will proceed to enjoy spring in what way I can now. A true joy of art is that it has the ability to capture and present any season you are in the mood for. An icy blue and cream colored snow scene, a vibrant mountain landscape with autumn trees changing their leaves to bursts of orange and red, or even arrays of flowers that bring their own bit of sunshine home. Currently, I am working on experimenting with gesso on watercolor paper, and then painting flowers and/or cityscapes in acrylic. I have done this process a few times before, and one piece that I absolutely love is my “Bird of Paradise.” It was a very pleasant piece to create, thank the Lord. I hope to paint more pieces like it, enjoy the sunshine, drink my tea and think on things that are good. God bless and have a joyful day! <><

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
